Despite placing third in the tri-meet against Chamblee Charter High School & Greater Atlanta Christian Academy, Druid Hills boys varsity swimming had several impressive finishes:
In the 200 medley relay, the boys A relay (Idris Muhammad, Liam Bell, Javin Carey, and Zach Bauer) placed 1st, swimming a state-qualifying time of 1:42.41.
Senior Liam Bell also placed first in the 200 IM, qualifying for state with a time of 2:04.39, and placed first in the 100 butterfly, also qualifying for state with a time of 55.21.
The 200 freestyle relay (also made up of Liam Bell, Javin Carey, Ted Shepherd, and Boyd Nicol) placed third, qualifying for state with a time of 1:38.18. Liam anchored the relay, swimming a 20.62 50 freestyle and securing the relay’s state-qualifying time.
Sophomore Idris Muhammad bested his previous state-qualifying time in the 100 backstroke with a 54.27, placing first.
